Casey Powell scored three goals and added three assists to lead the East Division champion Orlando Titans to a 11-5 win over Philadelphia on Friday night in the Wings’ National Lacrosse League season finale before 8,656 at the Wachovia Center.
The win lifted the Titans to 10-5 on the season and kept alive their hopes of a getting the top overall seed in the playoffs.
The game even after one half at 3-3. But the Wings were shut out in the third period and Powell scored all three of his goals in the quarter as the Titans seized a 7-3 lead.
Drew Westervelt led the Wings with two goals and an assist while Geoff Snider won 15 of 20 face-offs and scooped 15 loose balls. John Christmas (Lower Merion), Bill McGlone (Ridley) and David Mitchell each had a goal and an assist for the Wngs.
