Drexel University freshman Robert Church has been named this week’s Colonial Athletic Association men’s lacrosse Player of the Week and the league’s Rookie of the Week. Church scored a career-high seven goals as the Dragons defeated then No. 8 Hofstra in the team’s CAA opener on Saturday. Drexel is now 8-2 and ranked eighth in the nation, the highest ranking in school history.
Church, an attackman for the Dragons, led Drexel to a 13-11 win against the Pride on Saturday. His seven goals came on just nine shots and found the back of the net five times in the first half.
