Tom Perini scored four goals and Colin Serling added three goals and two assists as one of the young season’s No. 1 surprise team in men’s lacrosse, Lafayette, whipped visiting Navy, 15-8, Friday in its Patriot League opener.
Lafayette, ranked 16th in the nation in the USILA, moves to 5-0 overall, its best start in school history. Navy, ranked No. 18, fell to 3-3, 2-1 in the Patriot League.
Kevin Dunbar added three goals for the Leopards while Chris Ahern had two goals and an assist while Cesar Munoz won 16 of 26 face-offs. From Philly, Rob FitzPatrick (Episcopal Academy) had two groundballs.
The Middies got a strong game on defense from Michael Hirsch (Perkiomen Valley), who collected five caused turnovers and three groundballs.

Chestnut Hill College 8, American International 7
Freshman attackman Shane Morlock and Mark Winkelspecht (Parkland) each scored two goals as the Griffins made their home debut for their new program a success.
Mark Lively added a goal and two assists and Ricky Norman Jr. was 11-for-18 on face-offs thanks to the hustle of freshman defenseman D.J. Lynch, who secured seven ground balls. Winkelspecht also had three caused turnovers and five ground balls.
Dakota Maurer earned his second win of the season, making 10 saves while Dan Bohon (Avon Grove) had a goal and an assist and Joe Rucinski had four groundballs and two caused turnovers.
