Benilde-St. Margaret’s (MN) rising senior defenseman Zachary Silvestri has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Lafayette College.

Silvestri said he also considered Washington & Lee, Haverford, Denison and Hamilton before settling on the Easton, Pa.-based school.

“I really liked the atmosphere and campus when I visited,” Silvestri said. “It’s a good academic school, so it’s a place where I can get a good education and be a part of a good lacrosse program.”

Silvestri added that he is excited about moving on to the college game after helping to lead his high school team to a Minnesota State High School League championship as a junior.

“I’m going to have to get a little bit bigger and a lot faster,” Silvestri said. “But I look forward to the challenge, and I’m looking forward to playing at such a high level.”
