The Lehigh Valley Senior boys’ team took home the silver medal at last weekend’s Keystone State Games at Penn State University.
The team finished first in the Commonwealth bracket, defeating all five of its

opponents in pool play (Bucks, Chester, Capital, Great Lakes, and Metro).
In the medal round, Lehigh Valley rallied from three goals down to defeat Keystone bracket runner-up Delaware County, 9-8, on a late goal by Dan Kinek (Emmaus). The tally came off a perfect pass from Kurt Kaunas (Parkland).
In the championship game, the team again started slowly and was down, 4-1, early in the secondhalf against Keystone bracket winner Blue Mountain (Central PA). LV closed the gap to 5-4 and had several chances to tie the score but Blue Mountain pulled away for a 8-4 win.
