The Chester county Jr. boys’ lacrosse team claimed the gold medal at the 2010 Keystone State Games last weekend at Penn State when it defeated Montgomery County, 7-1, in the championship game.
The Chesco team, led by head coach Jim Schorn and assistants Peter Scott and Drew

Bauer, finished at 7-0 with wins also over Bucks, Lehigh, Nittany, York and Delco.
Chesco used solid team play, strong defense and goaltending and superb passing to outscore its opponent, 72-14. All thirteen offensive players contributed a goal and/or assist throughout the weekend; with 37 of 72 goals coming off assists.
Richie Buzza, who stood out as a two-way middie and won 90 percent of his face-offs, was named the tournament MVP. Greg Merrill led the team in scoring with 14 goals and 6 assists while Ryan Hilburn had 11 goals and 6 assists. Wil Kay and Alex Mezey each scored six goals and Conor Glancy had five while Troy Gallen had four.
