Germantown Academy’s Cameron Metzker (defenseman) heads the list of 13 incoming recruits for Division III Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
Joe Ernst, Southwestern University head coach, announced that the class consists of two attackmen, five midfielders, five defensemen and one goalie. They hail from four states including Texas, Colorado, New York, and Pennsylvania.
“We really looked to improve in many areas including face offs, scoring and defense and we feel that we have accomplished this and then some,” said Ernst, whose team competed as an NCAA-sanctioned program for the first time in 2010. “Not only has our depth gone up but the athleticism and talent level of our team has made great strides.”
Metzker, an Honorable Mention Inter-Ac League pick, was honored as the Outstanding Senior Player at Germantown Academy for 2010.
Southwestern plays in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and went 1-11 last year.

The Pirates have also bolstered their schedule this year, most notably adding RPI, which was ranked #12 in the country as of the end of the 2010 season and was an NCAA tournament participant.
