Luc Minnich pumped in seven goals and Conor Crowe made 16 saves in goal as host Upper Merion to a 16-8 victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh today in Suburban One American Conference boys’ lacrosse.
The win helped the Vikings improve to 6-2 in the conference and 8-3 overall, while dropping the Colonials to 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the Suburban One. PW had defeated Upper Merion, 8-6, when the teams first met on March 30.
Nate Hare added four goals and two assists for the Vikes while Trevor Kupecky had three goals and three assists. James Brennan scored two goals and Wes McDowell added a goal and two assists.
PW was led by Zack Schulman, who had three goals and one assist.
Wissahickon 17, Springfield-Montco 2
Brian Frankenfield had four goals and one assist and Jeff Gebert added three goals and two assists to lead the Trojans to the Suburban One win.
With Plymouth Whitemarsh’s loss, Wissahickon (6-3, 6-0) became the only unbeaten team in the American Conference.
Brian Dick added three goals and one assist while Shane Ziegler had two goals and two assists.
Shipley 14, Friends’ Central 1
The Gators improved to 10-0 overall by cruising to the win in their Friends Schools League opener, stretching their two-year win streak to 23 games.
Nick Sterge dished off seven assists and Julius Mouser led goal scorers with five while goalie Ian McGibbon did not allow a goal and made five saves.
Matt Gagnier added three goals and Mike Litner had one goal and three assists while Evan Romano and EJ Whyte had two goals each. Mac Gallagher also scored once.
Hatboro-Horsham 13, Souderton 7
Kevin Sweeney scored four goals, Eddie Coombs had three goals and two assists and Ryan Kreston added three goals and one assist to lead the Hatters to the Suburban One Continental win.
J.P. Carroll and Bryan Ziegler each scored twice for the Indians and Grant Nice made 14 while Dan Berret and Keith Lockman were strong on defense.
Spring-Ford 13, Perkiomen Valley 4
Drew Thomas and Paul major each had three goals to lead the Rams to the PAC-10 win.
St. Joseph’s Prep 14, Kennedy-Kenrick 0
Anthony Marini and Jake O’Brien had three goals each while Mike Zikoski and Liam Correia combined for the shutout as the Hawks cruised in the Catholic League.
La Salle 14, Father Judge 1
The Explorers won their eighth straight game and improved to 8-1 with the Catholic League win.
Emmaus 19, William Allen 1
Dan Kinek scored four goals and Stephen Ward added three as the Green Hornets (6-4, 5-0) remained undefeated in the Lehigh Valley League.
Owen J. Roberts 11, Methacton 3
Junior Kohl Batdorf (three goals, two assists) tallied the 100th goal of his career and Dylan Swope added three goals and two assists while Jimi Hennessy had two goals to lead the Wildcats to the PAC-10 win.
Andrew Boyer made 10 saves for OJR, which outscored Methacton, 8-1, in the second half.
Sean Aronow, Ryan Kelly and Cody Ridgway scored for the Warriors.
Spring-Ford 13, Perkiomen Valley 4
Drew Thomas collected four goals and five assists and Brian Bock and Paul Major each had two goals and an assist as the Rams coasted. Josh Sutterfield added two assists, won 10 of 14 face-offs and had six groundballs.
Justn Morgan scored three goals for Perk Valley.
