Immaculata won its first game for rookie coach Martin Mullen today by downing host Penn State Abington, 17-2, in non-conference Division III action.
Brendan Dinneen (Archbishop Wood) led the Mighty Macs’ attack with five goals and an assist while John Cacchio (Holy Ghost Prep) had two goals and four assists and Dante Tuscai (West Chester East) and Tom Hartney (Interboro) each added two goals and three assists and Ben Tuscai (West Chester East) had two goals and two assists.
Jordan Smith also had a strong game at midfield and defensive standouts included Dan Klodarska (Penncrest) and Will Loftin (Downingtown West). Goalie Drew Sim (Interboro) made nine saves in 3 and a half quarters.
Ursinus 9, Wesley 6
Paced by four goals from sophomore midfielder Jeff Ocampo, Ursinus improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2007. Eric Farris (Pottsgrove) added two goals and two assists while Dan Monzo (Spring-Ford) had two goals while goalkeeper T.J. Magnani (Saint Mark’s, DE) had 10 saves and David Kraus scored once and picked up four groundballs.
Neumann 13, Hood 12
Tom Hedrick (Springfield-Delco) led the Knights with five goals in their first win of the year. Justin Mailloux netted four and Kyle Gardner (Perkiomen School) added two. Andrew Neubauer (Cardinal O’Hara) made 10 saves in net.
