Club update: Rebel Elite reaches semifinals at Summer Sizzle

The Rebel Elite lacrosse club went 6-1 and reached the semifinals at the Summer Sizzle Tournament in Bel Air, Md., last weekend, taking the No. 3 spot out of 48 teams.

Rebel Elite fell to Lost to Bullis HS (Md.), 4-1 in the semis, but outscored its opponents, 70-16, during the event.

Joey Sankey (Penn Charter) and Colin Joka (Plymouth Whitemarsh) led all scorers for the Rebels, while Andrew Caldwell (Penncrest), Keegan Lawton (Bishop Shanahan), and Frank Magazu (Kingsway, NJ) led the midfield.

Carl Lampe (Episcopal Academy), Tom Bracaglia (Wissahickon), Beau Gomez (Wissahickon), and Dylan O’Donnell (Penncrest) were dominant at the defensive positions. Gryphan Kelly (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was a near-perfect at the face-off X, winning 93% of the draws through the two day event.

Andrew Sabia (Roman Catholic) and Ryan McDevitt (Malvern Prep) shared the duties in goal and had solid performances.
