Five Philly club teams remained undefeated at 4-0 after two days of action at the Champ Tournament at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
The four-time defending champion Duke’s Lacrosse Club continued to roll. The No. 1 seed in Group A won three games Friday, whipping Decicco Lacrosse, 14-1, and routing Ridgewood 1, 13-1, while also blanking Burnaby Mountain, 13-0.
The Duke’s 2 also is 4-0, after defeating L.I. Stampede, 10-2, MadLax Juniors Blue, 10-1, and Norfolk Academy, 9-1.
HEADstrong Elite, the Group G top seed, also won three games, over Richmond Shock, 12-0, Team Turnpike NB, 5-1, and Green Turtle, 2-1.
Mesa Fresh 2011, the top seed in Group H, also is 4-0 after three wins, over NESLL 4, 13-1, Claddagh White, 10-5, and Tri-State Red, 8-5.
Twist Black, the top seed in Group D, is 4-0 after victories over Dominion Capitals, 10-5, NESLL 2, 9-8, and TD Lax, 6-5.
Meanwhile, the HEADstrong Young Guns are 2-2. Springfield-Delco and Twist Silver are each 1-3.
On Saturday at 8:30 a.m., Mesa Fresh 2011 meets Green Turtle in a championship bracket game while HEADstrong Elite meets Edge Lacrosse. In 9:30 a.m. championship bracket games, Duke’s 2 meets Lax West Elite and at 11 a.m. Twist Black faces Team Turnpike SB while HEADstrong Young Guns faces Smithtown.
The Duke’s LC squad faces FuZeBlue at 11:30 a.m. and two more rounds of playoff action follow.
