The Catholic League girls’ lacrosse semifinals will be held today at Archbishop Prendegast while quarterfinals action begins in the Catholic League boys’ playoffs.
The girls’ semis will feature second-seeded Archbishop Wood facing fourth-seeded Little Flower at 5 p.m. The nightcap features top-seeded Archbishop Carroll and sixth-seeded Cardinal O’Hara, which knocked off third-seeded St. Hubert, 9-8, on Wednesday.
Archbishop Carroll has won nine straight league crowns and is ranked No. 6 in the PA Media Rankings. The two semifinal winners will meet Monday at Prendergast at 5 p.m.
For the boys, Northern Division second-place finisher Lansdale Catholc will host third-place finisher Archbishop Wood at 3:45 p.m. today while Southern Division first-place finisher St. Joseph’s Prep hosts fourth-place finisher Archbishop Carroll at 3:45.
In Friday’s quarters, North champ La Salle hosts fourth-place finisher Conwell-Egan and South second-place finisher Cardinal O’Hara hosts fourth-place finisher Roman Catholic.
The winners advance to the semifinals on Tuesday at Monsignor Bonner. The championship game will be held Thursday, May 27 at Plymouth Whitemarsh.
Only the champions for each of the tourneys advances to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament.
