Today was a good day here for the Philly girls team.
Our first game today was against New England in the last of pool play. How we did in that game would also decide who we played later in the day.
We came out strong, leading 8-2 at half and were able to pull out a 13-8 win. New Jersey would also finish their pool play with a 1-2, record which meant we would play them in the game for 5th place.
The heat and exhaustion was seeming to get to us all but we pushed it out for our final game against New Jersey. It was a back-and-forth game with neither team leading by more than three goals at any time. At
halftime the game was at a 4-4 tie.
As an even game, we went back out in the second half and gave it our all. It was tied 9-9 with 2
minutes left, but after a Philly goal, we lead 10-9 with under a minute and a half to go. We were able to stall and get a hard earned win.
It was great to be able to play with such a talented and fun team and it is definitely an experience I will never forget!
