North Penn rising senior Danielle Horn recently made a verbal commitment to play for La Salle University.
Horn, an attack and midfielder, intends to major in Elementary Education and is impressed with La Salle’s campus and unique team dynamics.
“When I went to visit there I saw that it’s the perfect size and is right in the city,” she said. “The team is amazing because it’s a real group of people. They welcomed me and asked me a lot of questions about myself, and I really fell in love with the school.”
Horn is also looking forward to working with La Salle’s second-year coach, Candace Taglianetti. “She started last year so she’s really looking to build a team from the base up, and I’m excited to be a part of that,” Horn said.
Horn, who had 28 goals, 14 assists, 35 draw controls and 40 ground balls last year while earning second-team All-Suburban One Continental Conference honors, hopes to gain valuable experience at La Salle’s as she absorbs the overall college experience.
This year North Penn was undefeated in its league with an impressive 17-0 record, winning the Continental Conference crown and placing sixth in District 1.
Horn, looking back on last season’s success, sees her new responsibilities as an upperclassman on the team as both a challenge and an opportunity. She will join several recent North Penn graduates at La Salle – including Lauren McDermott (class of 2009) and Ali Herman (Class of 2008).
