Springfield-Delco senior attack Val Paolucci has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.
Paolucci was an Honorable Mention All-Central league choice in 2009 when she helped the Cougars claim the District 1 championship, their fourth straight district crown.
Paolucci missed a large number of games with a pulled hamstring, but had three goals in the Cougars’ 14-9 victory over previously-undefeated and Central League champion Radnor in the district finals.
Paolucci also is a standout in the classroom. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was named Academic All-American in 2009.
Paolucci is the second Springfield-Delco girl to commit to a Division I college. Shannon Burns earlier committed to Delaware.
Seniors can sign National Letters of Intent during the early signing period Nov. 11-18.
