Radnor, which won the first Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) girls’ championship this year, was No. 14 in the final Lacrosse Magazine national rankings for 2009.
The Red Raiders finished 25-1 and swept through the Central League with an undefeated record of 11-0. They defeated Strath Haven, 20-10, for the PIAA crown.
The team, coached by long-time mentor Phyllis Kilgour, featured First-Team All-Americans Sam Ellis (senior attack), Kelyn Freedman (junior midfield), Allie Martin (junior midfield) and Alyssa Dunlap (junior defense).
The Raiders also featured these All-Central League players: senior goalie Katie Geary (first team), junior defender Allison Heath (second team), and junior attack Courtney Campbell (second team).
Radnor had its 44-game win streak snapped by Springfield-Delco in the District 1 finals. Kilgour now has 547 victories in her career at Radnor.
