Penn, which has reached the NCAA Division I Final Four each of the past three years, is ranked No. 4 in the Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Rankings released today.
Northwestern, the five-time defending champion, is ranked No. 1, followed by Maryland and 2009 runner-up North Carolina.
In Division II, West Chester – the 2008 national champion – is ranked No. 7. In Division III, defending champion Franklin & Marshall is ranked first.
