Male Underclass Honor Roll: Interboro’s Moore, Wissahickon’s Gomez

This week’s Spirit United Male Underclass Honor Roll:

Adam Moore, Interboro, junior goalie

Off the field: He is a member of the National Honor Society; Student Representative to Interboro District School Board, 2008-2009, 2009-10; Class President for the terms of Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Years; First Freshman to become Student Council officer in Interboro High School History (treasurer); attended multiple Student Leadership Conferences Regional, State, and will be attending on the National Level in summer of 2009 in Denver, Colorado); acted as the student financial adviser to the 2009 Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils Region F Regional Conference; placed fourth in the 2009 Regional FBLA Competition in the field of Sports Management (qualified for the state competition); placed 2nd in the Physics Olympics for longest Distance flown by on-sight constructed paper airplane; captain for Physics Olympics Team which placed 4th overall in the County competition (Highest placed team in Interboro School History); volunteer goalie mentor/coach for the Interboro Youth Lacrosse Program; volunteer youth soccer referee for Norwood Athletic Club; community volunteerism to support senior citizens through Student Council; team captain and Participant of Relay For Life 2007, 2008, and 2009

On the field: He is averaging 18 saves a game and has earned a state-wide reputation for his ability to make point-blank stops. Is aggressive, a good communicator with his defense and a leader who was named a co-captain as a junior.

Beau Gomez, Wissahickon, sophomore defenseman

Off the field: He carries a 3.7 GPA and is in mostly Honors classes. He volunteers as a coach for the Wissahickon youth program.

On the field: He has been on the varsity squad since his freshman year, always a starter.  He already has 35 takeaways this year, as well as 33 groundballs. He has helped anchor a defense that has kept opponents to an average of 4.5 goals/game.
