La Salle has advanced to the quarterfinals of the inaugural LaxPower National Online Tournament (NOLT).
The Explorers “defeated” Ohio state champion Worthington Kilbourne in the virtual tourney, which began with 64 teams from every lacrosse-playing state. The winners are being chosen by the LaxPower panel of four experts and a computer rankings system based on team records and strength of schedule from the 2009 season.
La Salle went 21-4 and won the first Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) crown this season. Meanwhile, PIAA runner-up Conestoga saw its virtual season come to and end when it fell to Georgetown Prep.
La Salle now faces New York’s Canandaigua (22-2), the State B champion in the Group 4 finals. The winner of this game faces the winner of the Georgetown Prep-West Islip matchup in the semifinals.
