Gettysburg was picked over Haverford College as the top team in the Centennial Conference as Inside Lacrosse released its Face-Off Magazine Preseason Division III men’s rankings and all-conference selections by league coaches.
The rest of the preseason picks featured Washington College (No. 3), followed by McDaniel, Franklin & Marshall, Dickinson, Ursinus, Muhlenberg and Swarthmore.
Haverford College had three All-Conference picks: junior attackman Max Hjelm (Conestoga), senior midfielder Andrew Kim and senior long stick midfielder Grant Firestone (Brandywine High, DE).
Swarthmore features All-Conference picks Max Wilson (defenseman, senor) and Kevin Friedenberg (goalie, senior) and Ursinus features senior midfielder Eric Farris (Pottsgrove).
Middle Atlantic Conference
Widener was picked second and Eastern sixth in the MAC. Widener’s All-Conference picks included senior attackman Cory Malampy (Ridley) and senior defenseman Nick Politarhos (Ridley). Fairleigh Dickinson was picked as the preseason favorite.
Colonial States Athletic Conference
Cabrini College, the nine-time defending champion, was picked to repeat. The rest of the CSAC field featured Marywood (No. 2), Gwynedd Mercy College, Shenandoah, Centenary, Neumann and Immaculata.
All-Conference picks for Cabrini included senior attackman Casey Grugan (Ridley), junior midfielder Paul Skulski (Garnet Valley), junior face-off specialist Mike Gurenlian (Springfield-Delco), sophomore defenseman John McSorley (Ridley) and junior defenseman Anthony Mazza.
Also picked for All-Conference honors were Neumann seniors Matt Toth (midfielder, Coatesville) and Jake Boulay (goalie) and Immaculata junior midfielder Joe Keller (Owen J. Roberts).
Empire 8
Led by All-Conference pick Mike Hennessy, a junior face-off specialist from Owen J. Roberts, Ithaca was picked to win the Empire 8.
Landmark
‘ Scrantion is ranked No. 3 and features all-conference pick Brett Greer, a sophomore attackman from Ridley.
