Episcopal Academy senior defender Ashley McCormick has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Yale University.

McCormick was a key for an EA team that won its third straight Inter-Ac League championship and finished 18-5 in 2009 while taking the fifth spot in the final PA Media Lacrosse Rankings. McCormick has been voted as a team captain for 2010.

McCormick collected 27 draw controls, 57 groundballs, 10 turnovers and eight interceptions in 2009. She also had five goals and seven assists. Academically, she has made Honor Roll every year at EA and last year was selected as a finalist for the Esse Quam Videri leadership award.

McCormick is the second member of the Churchwomen to commit to a Division I college; midfielder Avery Curley has committed to Penn State.
