Conestoga senior midfielder Emily Speck has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Colgate University.
Speck was an honorable mention All-Central League pick last year for the Pioneers, who finished 10-7 and reached the second round of the District 1 playoffs. Speck, also a standout field hockey player, was named a US Lacrosse Academic All-American and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Speck, who has played five years of club lacrosse for the Phantastix Purple, is the fourth Conestoga senior to commit to a Division I college. The others are Amanda Norcini (Drexel), Colleen Guinan (Temple) and Theresa Brady (Old Dominion).
Senior can sign National Letters of Intent during the early-signing period Nov. 11-18.
