Gabrielle Stitz (Hatboro-Horsham) had three goals and three assists and Chrissy Stokes (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored four goals today to lead fifth-ranked West Chester past East Stroudsburg, 20-5, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East action.
West Chester (10-2 overall, 8-0) tightened its grip on first place in the league standings and a spot in the PSAC postseason tournament with the win over East Stroudsburg (6-8, 4-4).
The Golden Rams scored 13 unanswered goals in the first half to run away from the Warriors, who were tied at 1-1 for the first six minutes. However, Stitz had a hand in five of West Chester’s next six goals over a four-minute span that sparked the decisive run. Stitz played a role in six of the Rams’ first seven tallies overall in the contest.
Stitz finished with three goals and three assists in the first half before resting the entire second session. Stokes posted four goals and added one assist. Shannon Hayes, making her first career start, scored once and registered four assists. Nicole Haines (Great Valley) added two goals and two more assists as well.
Mary Beth Green (Henderson) made 11 saves for WCU. Michelle Mangiaruga (North Penn) and Christine Bradley (Pottstown) scored twice each for ESU.

Wesley 13, York 11
Justin D’Alonzo (Interboro) scored twice, defender Kirk Waldie (Ridley) collected an amazing 11 groundballs and five caused turnovers and goalie Jim McCleaft (Sun Valley) had 11 saves to lead Wesley (10-4). Bradford Blaker (Henderson) had a goal and an assist for York (7-7).
