College wrap: Penn men defeat Dartmouth; St. Joe’s won win, Dragons, Owls, Explorers fall

    Craig Andrzejewski and Garve Heiderman each scored two goals as Penn defeated Dartmouth, 9-6, Friday in Ivy League men’s lacrosse.

    The Quakers (2-6, 1-3), who had lost six of seven games, got seven saves from goalie Joe Hegener.

Women

St. Joe’s 12, St. Bonaventure 5

   Meghan McDevitt and Jen Peters each had three goals for the Hawks (6-6, 2-1) in their Atlantic 10 Conference triumph.

George Mason 13, Drexel 11, OT

    Megan Udovich (Ridley) had two goals and Emily Ellisen (Great Valley) added one as GM (4-4, 1-0) claimed the Colonial Athletic Association win. Katie Lawson and Becca Drylie-Perkins each had three goals for the Dragons (7-2, 0-1).

George Washington 9, Temple 4

    Sarah Phillips (Downingtown West) had two goals and Taylor Donohue (Radnor) added one as GW (4-8, 3-0) earned the A-10 win over the Owls. Brittney Hoffman led Temple (0-10, 0-3) with a hat trick.

Duquesne 13, La Salle 5

    Nora McGurkin (Penn Charter) had a pair of goals to lead the Explorers (4-6, 1-2) in their A-10 loss.

Northwestern 13, Duke 7

    Emma Hamm (Baldwin School) had one goal for the Blue Devils (9-3) in their loss to No. 1 Northwestern (11-0).

North Carolina 10, Ohio State 8

    Kelly Haggerty (Unionville) scored two goals for the 14th-ranked Buckeyes (9-2) in their loss to the No. 4 Tar Heels.

Hofstra 13, James Madison 12, OT

    Courtney O’Connor (Abington) had a goal and two assist to help the Pride (7-3) win their Colonial Athletic Association opener. Mary Late Lomady (Abington) had four goals for JMU (4-6, 0-1) while Jaime Dardine (Marple Newtown) had three and Annie Brophy (Archbishop Carroll) one.

William & Mary 12, Towson 9

    Emily Geary (Radnor) made nine saves as W&M (5-5, 1-0) claimed the CAA win.

Georgetown 11, Syracuse 10, 4 OT

    Mary Beth Brophy (Archbishop Carroll) scored once for the Hoyas (8-3, 3-0) in the dramatic quadruple- overtime win. Megan Mosenson (Great Valley) had three tallies for the Orange (8-3, 3-1).

Monmouth 12, Wagner 6

   Megan Brennan (Archbishop Carroll) had four goals and Olivia Salata (Archbishop Carroll) added one while Monica Johnson (Archbishop Carroll) had 10 saves for Monouth (5-6).
