Boys’ wrap: Owen J. Roberts, Spring-Ford advance to PAC-10 finals; CB East, Pennsbury win

Charlie Stein scored four goals, Connor Kelly collected three goals and two assists and Greg Nester added three goals and an assist as host Owen J. Roberts defeated Methacton, 17-5, Tuesday in the Pioneer Athletic Conference semifinals.

The top-seeded Wildcats (17-1), ranked No. 10 in the PA Media Rankings for PIAA schools, also got a goal and four assists from Mike Costanzo as they bolted to a 12-2 halftime lead. They will meet Spring-Ford in the finals Thursday at Spring-Ford.

Spring-Ford 8, Boyertown 7

Mark Consolo scored three goals, including the game-winner, as the Rams advanced to the finals of the PAC-10 tourney to face Owen J. Roberts Thursday. Colton Szostek added two goals for the Rams (12-5) and Jesse Ercole stopped 20 shots. Matt Salvetti scored three goals for the Bears (9-9).

Central Bucks East 17, Souderton 6

The Patriots (12-3, 10-1), ranked ninth in the PA Media Rankings for PIAA teams, continued its hold on first place in the Continental Conference as Adam Bitzer scored four goals and Zack Sharman had three goals and one assist. Grant Nice had 22 saves for the Indians.

CB East: Bitzer 4 goals, Matt Hughes 2 goals, 2 assists; Zack Sharman 3 goals, 1 assist; Alex Fetterman 2 goals, 1 assist; Brian Urban 1 goal; Kenny Miller 1 goal; Conor McSherry 1 goal; Matt Brodzik 1 goal; Tyler Smith 1 goal; Ryan Hartung 1 assist

Souderton: Bryan Ziegler 1 goal, 1 assist; Jon Eells 2 goals; Jon Prasky 1 goal; Joe Kudla 1 goal; J.P. Carroll 1 goal 1 assist; Sean Becker 1 assist. Saves: Grant Nice 22 saves.

Pennsbury 17, Council Rock South 4

The Falcons (11-6, 8-1) stayed one game behind Abington in the Suburban One National Conference race as they gear for today’s showdown against the Ghosts. Dan Caggia led Pennsbury with five goals while Shawn Caven and Kenneth Warren each had three.

Lower Merion 13, Marple Newtown 4

Jordan Wolf collected three goals and five assists and Matt Dilks scored four goalswhile Sam Golden won 15 of 17 face-offs and had a goal and an assist to lead the ninth-ranked Aces (12-4, 7-3) to their eighth straight win.

Radnor 16, Harriton 7

The fourth-ranked Red Raiders (14-3, 8-2) celebrated Senior Night as seniors Zack Donnelly (three goals, two assists), Will Lawlor (two goals, two assists), John Dougherty (two goals), Matt Cherry (two goals), Rob Norton (one goal, one assist), Tyler Andersen (one goal, one assist) and Scott Harris (one goal) paced the attack. Spencer Lussier, Jeff Puckette, Charley Rubin and Jeff Gold each added a goal and Blake Middendorf had 10 saves.

Rob Schwab and Noah Levin had two goals for the Rams while Ben Simms, Will Carabasi and Nate Kotarra each scored once. for the Rams  Will Carabasi and Dan Levin also had strong games.

Conestoga 13, Strath Haven 4

The No. 3 Pioneers (16-1, 10-0) clinched the Central League championship with the victory over the Panthers as Paul Mita and Matt Smith recorded three goals each. They can finish an undefeated league season by defeating Haverford High Thursday at home.

Garnet Valley 8, Ridley 7

Eric Warden (two goals) scored the game-winner with eight seconds left to lift the Jaguars (10-6, 6-3) to their fifth straight win.

Penncrest 13, Haverford 3

Craig Kashner collected three goals and four assists for the Lions. Casey Curry had two goals for Haverford.

Springfield-Delco 10, Upper Darby 1

Joe Venit poured in five goals as the Cougars (13-4, 8-2) gained a much-needed win.

Unionville 15, Sun Valley 14

Richard Kaiser scored the game-winner with 34 seconds left in the game while Grady Stevens (three goals) dominated at the face-off X for the Indians (9-4, 6-2) in the Ches-Mont win. Nick Bacci and Mike Sundry each had three goals and two assists for the Indians. Matt Remner and Donnie Krausse each had four goals and Bobby Clemens had two goals and assists as Sun Valley fell to 11-5 and 6-3 in the league.

Downingtown West 6, Avon Grove 5

Mike Goodrich had the game-winner in the final minute of play and Ryan Higgins scored three goals as the Whippets (10-6, 5-3) claimed a key Ches-Mont win over the Devils (9-6, 5-4).

Henderson 16, West Chester East 11

Billy Latta scored seven goals as the Warriors (9-6, 5-4) claimed a Ches-Mont League upset over the Vikings (12-3, 6-3). Chris McCormick had four goals for East.

Bishop Shanahan 14, Great Valley 6

Michael Thompson pumped in six goals andKeegan lawton tallied four for the Eagles.

Bayard Rustin 12, Kennett 4

Kevin Robinson scored four goals to lead the Golden Knights.

Georgetown Prep 7, La Salle 6, 2 OT

The host Hoyas (18-3) tied the game with seven seconds left in regulation and dealt the top-ranked Explorers (11-4) their third OT loss to Maryland foes this year.

Shipley 12, Archbishop Carroll 5

Julius Mouser and Mike Litner each had four goals and two assists as the Gators won their 10th straight game.

Father Judge 10, North Catholic 6
