Boys’ wrap: Owen J. Roberts routs Spring-Ford, 16-4; Lansdale Catholic wins first Catholic League game

    Kohl Batdorf collected four goals and three assists and Connor Kelly and Jordan Hafer each added three while Mike Costanzo had a goal and four assists to lead Owen J. Roberts to a 16-4 rout of visiting Spring-Ford Friday in a Pioneer Athletic Conference boys’ game.

    The win gave OJR (11-1, 8-0) a clear path to the league’s top seed for the playoffs. The Rams fell to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the PAC-10.

    The Wildcats’ defense was paced by sophomore defenseman Collin Blye, who helped hold Spring-Ford’s St. John’s signee Tyler Novotny to one goal. Andrew Boyer made eight saves in goal for OJR.

    Dylan Swope added a goal and an assist for the ‘Cats. Mark Consolo, Carl Santoro and Matt Glowacki also scored for Spring-Ford.

Methacton 12, Perkiomen Valley 9

St. Joseph’s Prep 19, Kennedy Kenrick 1

    Brendan Glynn had three goals and two assists and Cory Schuerle added two goals and two assists as the Hawks (4-0) cruised to the Catholic League Southern Division win. Brad James, Jordan Edwards and Tim Browne each had two goals for The Prep.

Lansdale Catholic 10, Archbishop Ryan 6

    Liam Malley had four goals and two assists while Kyle Davis and Jesse Fields each scored twice as the host Crusaders (7-1, 1-0) rallied from an early 6-0 deficit to post the final 10 goals of the game and win their first Catholic League Northern Division contest. Roy Bakeover led Ryan with three goals.

     Justin O’Brien had four goals and Steve Werner added three goals and five assists for North. Colin Taylor had four goals and Matt Caruso had three goals and four assists for CE.

Cardinal O’Hara 6, Archbishop Carroll 5

    Bob McNamara tallied two goals and notched the game-winner with 1:38 left in regulation to give the Lions their first win of the season. Ed McLaughlin had three goals for O’Hara while Andrew Sorenson made 13 saves. Ryan Shea had two goals for Carroll.

Roman Catholic 11, Monsignor Bonner 5

Haverford School 15, Penn Charter 2

     Stephen Aitken and Brent Tomlinson each scored three goals and Will Horrocks had two goals and five assists as the Fords (7-6) cruised to the Inter-Ac League win.

    Andy MacPherson had three goals while Keenan Skeels chipped in with a pair to help the Redskins (7-4) to a Suburban One National win.

Pennsbury 8, Council Rock South 1

    Ricky Jutkiewicz and Kenneth Warren each had two goals and an assist and David Cutler made nine saves as the Falcons (5-4, 3-0) cruised to the Suburban One National win.

    Steve Carrozza had three goals and two assists while Jeff Giebert and Pat Delaney each had three goals and an assist while goalie Sean Smith made six saves as the Trojans cruised to the Suburban One American Conference shutout.

    Pat Lowry and Justin Biesecker each scored twice, Mike Capcino and Shane Franzone each had a goal and an assist and Mike Malloy made 13 saves for the Eagles.

Upper Dublin 12, Upper Merion 7

    Tim Duke notched four goals and Eric Breuninger had three goals while Eric Painter made 12 saves to spark the Cardinals (7-2, 6-0) to the win in a battle of Suburban One American unbeatens. James Brenann had four goals for the Vikings (7-1, 5-1).

Bishop Shanahan 10, Bayard Rustin 5

    Michael Thompson had five goals and the Eagles outscored Rustin 5-0 in the final period to earn the Ches-Mont League win. Conor McClarney led Rustin with two goals.

Shipley 5, George School 0

    Jack Tanenbaum made seven saves and Pat Sullivan had a goal and an assist for the Gators’ in their Friends Schools League shutout win.

Kennett 11, New Hope-Solebury 2

    Jamie Froelich had four goals and two assists to power Kennett.

Friends’ Central 11, Westtown 3

Del-Val Friends 11, Kimberton Waldorf 3
