Boys’ wrap: Haverford School edges Western Reserve

Carl Walrath and Brendan McGrath had two goals apiece to lead Haverford School to a 6-5 victory over Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) Wednesday in boys’ lacrosse action.

Liam O’Connor and Chris Hupfeldt added one goal each for the Fords (4-2).

Shipley School 9, Hilton Head (S.C.) 4

Shipley School 11, Bluffton (S.C.) 6

Shipley won both of its games in its Southern trip to South Carolina. Sam Pearce (3 g), Julius Mouser (2g, 2a), Justin Miller (1g, 3a), Charlie Gaulin (1 g), Michael Litner (1g) and Arne Andersen (1g 10gbs) sparked the win over Hilton Head. LSM Andersen led the way all-around scooping up 10 ground balls, took and won numerous face-offs, knocked down and picked off a handful of passes from our opponent and patrolled the space between the boxes. The Gators’ defense was led by the tandem of Jack Tanenbaum (15 saves) and Andrew Mason (2 saves). Nate Kuntz, Gore Kamara and Eric Loreaux played key roles as well.

Springfield-Montco 5, Souderton 4

The Spartans scored the game-winner with four seconds to play. Bryan Ziegler scored two goals and Ian Eisenhart won 9 of 14 face-offs for Souderton. J.P. Carroll and Tim McIlhenny each scored once for Souderton and Grant Nice made 14 saves.

Emmaus 15, William Allen 5

Mic Debellis had three goals and two assists and Tate Klidonas added a hat trick to lead the Green Hornets (2-1) to the Lehigh Valley Conference win. Will Scott and Travis Schmidt each had two goals and two assists while Derek Schmidt scored twice, and Dan Kinek, Nick Skawski and John McGeary each scored once. Dan Zagnoli and Tyler Sharesky each had two saves in goal.

Pennsbury 16, Truman 1

Shawn Caven scored four goals and Peter Sweetland had three goals and three assists for the Falcons (2-0) in their Suburban One National Conference opener. Calvin Hopkins added two goals and two assists, Kenneth Warren had a goal and three assists and Ricky Jutkeiwicz added a goal and two assists. Tim Considine and Luke Matthews (strong defense) also scored while Dave Cutler made four saves

Pennridge 7, Council Rock South 6

Unionville 10, Strath Haven 2
