Five men from Philadelphia were listed among the Top 100 college recruits for the 2008-09 season by Inside Lacrosse, while two Philly women made the Top 25 list of recruits.

Malvern Prep midfielder Matt Mackrides was listed as the No. 5 recruit. Mackrides, who helped the U.S. win the International Lacrosse Federation Under-19 World Championship this summer in British Columbia, Canada, is headed to Penn State.

Also in the Top 25 from Philadelphia, Haverford School defender Peter Borror (Virginia) is No. 11 and La Salle midfielder Conrad Ridgway (Penn State) is No. 18 and Downingtown East attacker Owen Blye (Maryland) is No. 25.

Mackrides, Borror, Ridgway, Blye, Layne and Gannett were All-Americans this spring while Hummel was an Academic All-American. Mackrides, Layne and Conte led Malvern Prep to the Inter-Ac League championship while Ridgway guided La Salle to the Keystone Cup crown and Blye, Gannett and Hummel helped Downingtown East win the Suburban League crown.
