Wissahickon Middle School went 11-0

On Wednesday May 16 the Wissahickon Middle School 8th Grade Boys Lacrosse team defeated Sandy Run (Upper Dublin) Middle School 9-2. This victory capped off an 11-0 season for the Wissahickon Class Of 2022. The team outscored its foes, 89-15.

The class of ’22 went 6-0 as 7th graders and this year’s 11-0 season as 8th graders brings their combined record at Wissahickon Middle School to 17-0.

“I am beyond proud of this group of guys,” said Wissahickon coach Matt Halligan. “I asked a lot of them this season and I was really impressed by the way they all came together and overcame every challenge they faced. After playing only six games last year, I know they were all super excited to have eleven games on the schedule and prove that they could put together another perfect season.

“They wanted to win, and despite battling multiple injuries throughout the season, they accomplished their goal of going undefeated. I can’t wait to see what this class has in store for the next four years at the high school; they are definitely a special group.”
