One spot remains open (4th grade or 2026 team, at 8 a.m.) for the second year of Shootout for Soldiers Philadelphia, set to begin June 26 (7 p.m. start, for 24 hours) at Episcopal Academy.

Shootout for Soldiers is a 24 hour lacrosse event benefiting American veterans.

The event is fun. It’s not a tournament or about recruiting.

The event is all about supporting those who serve our country.

The Mission:
“To use lacrosse as a platform to support American veterans and foster community engagement.
We educate the community about the challenges Veterans face when returning home. We share authentic first-person narratives from Veterans as well as curate learning resources and materials addressing the issues. We engage the civilian and military communities at the event to foster empathy and understanding. We also foster online discussion and conversation to bridge the gap between a younger millennial generation and our Veterans.
We amplify the work of leading non-profits in the space through funding their programs, projects and operations. We also use our platform online to develop and share authentic media addressing Veteran issues and topics.”

The Details:
Start Date and Time: Wednesday June 26th (date was originally June 13-14), 7:00 pm to June 27, 7:00 p.m.
Location: Episcopal Academy, 1785 Bishop White Drive, Newtown Square, PA 19073

Entertainment
There is good food, music and a festival of activities beyond lacrosse that make it a family friendly event for all. Last year SFS Philadelphia raised over $66k dollars through the support of over 700 players and 3,200 spectators in the Philadelphia area.

Those interested can sponsor a team to ensure the team meets its fundraising requirement. Veterans can register for the Veterans Game.
