For more than 20 years, the Germantown Friends School (GFS) varsity coaches and other dedicated professionals have offered premium camp experiences for young athletes interested in developing their skills and confidence. GFS Girls Lacrosse and Athletic Summer Camps are designed for students to inquire and explore, engage with new friends and community members, learn about their own passions, and strengthen skills.

The GFS Summer Girls Lacrosse camp, led by GFS Athletic Director and former Division I two-sport athlete, Katie Bergstrom, is designed for players in grades 2-9 who want to work on fundamental skill-building with a major emphasis on stick work, positional play, and game concepts. The camp will also focus on play-making, conditioning, and basic game rules. The goal for the camp is not only to teach the skills necessary to excel at lacrosse, but also to build confidence, deepen players’ passion for the sport, and work as a team.

Additional Athletics Camps include general boys and girls sports camps, basketball, baseball, field hockey, soccer, and wrestling, and are led by the GFS varsity coaches and other dedicated professionals.

Summer Camp Director Elliot Coates brings extensive, global knowledge of experiential learning to the GFS summer program, ensuring each offering links activities with reflection.

“Athletics camps serve as an opportunity for a bigger picture enrichment experience, allowing students to learn about themselves, other campers, and their community while playing a sport and building team spirit and camaraderie,” said Coates. “Whether a student is just learning how to use a lacrosse stick, or is mastering their defense plays, GFS camps provide a supportive platform for exploration and inquiry.”

There also are option for “early risers” 8-8:45 AM and “extended day” 3-5:30 p.m. The camp also has options for transportation and boxed lunches. These are all broken down on the registration website (Active network).

A full lineup of summer camp programs can be found here. GFS Camps offer a wide range of athletic camps, as well as academic, arts, and explorer programs. Our other camp locations are between Germantown Friends campuses: in Germantown, Center City, and our Athletic Fields. Program prices, dates, and locations are all on the charts below.
