Connor Helm won 15 of 18 faceoffs and earned the Travis Manion MVP as the top La Salle performer today as the Explorers defeated DeMatha (MD), 11-5, in the 8th annual “Fallen Heroes” Game at Banner Field at the Under Armour headquarters in Baltimore.

La Salle and DeMatha players unite to honor First LT. Travis Manion (La Salle, Class of 1999), who died in Iraq in 2007; and his best friend and roommate from the US Naval Academy, Navy SEAL, Lt. Brendan Looney (DeMatha), who died in Afghanistan in 2010.

The Explorers (8-3) fell behind, 2-1, in the first period and then scored eight of the next nine goals to take control. Matt Clibanoff and Chris Mockaitis each had three goals and an assist while Ethan Masucci had two goals and an assist and Brendan Meagher scored twice. Joey Taylor dished three assists and Mike Clibanoff posted four saves in goal.

DeMatha is 11-5.
