.@Bandits_LC announce additions to coaching staff

Bandits Lacrosse is proud to announce five recent additions to its coaching staff. The new coaches bring an abundance of lacrosse experience and have local ties to the Philadelphia-based lacrosse club.

Peter Burns, Program Director of Bandits Lacrosse, is excited with the new additions saying, “We couldn’t be happier to have these guys join the Bandits Lacrosse family. They have a wealth of lacrosse knowledge and passion that will help to further develop the players in our program”.

Gauntlett Walker Jr. (Varsity Head Coach, Hatboro-Horsham HS)
Walker played at Hatboro-Horsham from 2002-2004. He began coaching in 2009 at Keith Valley Middle School before moving on to Hatboro-Horsham High School. He spent a year coaching the 9th grade team before moving on to become the varsity defensive coordinator. The 2017-2018 season saw Walker move up to be named Head Coach of the varsity program. He is also 2008 Pennsylvania State University graduate and 2013 Saint Joseph’s University graduate.

Jim DeCarlo (Asst. Coach, Chestnut Hill College)
DeCarlo is an assistant coach of men’s lacrosse at Chestnut Hill College. Prior to becoming a coach, he was a member of Chestnut Hill College defensive unit. In his four years he totaled 22 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers in 29 games. In addition to his contribution on the field, he achieved great success in the classroom. As a biology major and a double minor in environmental sciences and molecular biology, he was a three- time recipient of Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, four-time member of the East Coast Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and a seven-time member of Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Roll. He is a graduate of LaSalle College High School.

Jimmy Murphy (Asst. Varsity Coach, Hatboro-Horsham HS)
Murphy, a member of the first Wet Bandits team, played all 4 years of varsity lacrosse from 2010-2013 for Hatboro Horsham. He helped win 3 league championships and was named captain of the team his senior year. He was also named The Intelligencer player of the year. Jimmy went on the play Division I lacrosse at Marist College, winning a league championship and playing in the NCAA tournament. He was named as a captain his senior year and had the honor of wearing #34 in honor of Eddie Coombs.

CJ Sherlock (Midfield, Arcadia University)
CJ Sherlock is entering his senior season at Arcadia University as a faceoff specialist and midfielder. He is a graduate of Cumberland Valley HS, where he was named All-Senteniel MVP and helped the team to a State Semifinal appearance.

Tanner Nelson (Attack/Midfield, Illinois Wesleyan University)
Nelson was an All-Conference selection as a member of North Penn High School’s varsity lacrosse program. He is continuing his lacrosse career at Illinois Wesleyan University, where he appeared in 20 games as a freshman, scoring 23 goals and 8 assists.
Other coaches in the Bandits Lacrosse program include Peter Burns (Asst. Coach, Chestnut Hill College), Ethan Fleming (Head Coach, Upper Moreland HS), Nate Malatin (Fmr. Asst. Coach, Abington HS), Kevin Leech (Fmr. Asst. Coach, Abington HS), Nick DiPiano (Asst. Coach, Conestoga Valley HS), Ky Allen (Asst. Coach, Eastern University), and Cameron Leech (Bryn Athyn College ’19).
