.@NeumannMLAX senior ATT Fraser is No. 3 pick in Western Lacrosse Association draft

Neumann senior transfer attackman Chase Fraser was selected Thursday night as the third overall pick in the Western Lacrosse Association 2017 Draft in Vancouver, British Columbia. Fraser, of Aldergrove, British Columbia, was chosen by the Nanaimo Timbermen (SR. A Lacrosse).

According to Wikipedia, the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) is a men’s Senior A box lacrosse sanctioned by the Canadian Lacrosse Association. It consists of seven teams, based in cities throughout southwestern British Columbia. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the right to compete against the Major Series Lacrosse champion for the Mann Cup every September.

Fraser earned All-East Coast Conference Honorable Mention each of the last two seasons at the Division II level, scoring 29 goals and scooping 47 groundballs in 2016 for the University of the District of Columbia.

Fraser attended Blue Ridge High in St. George (VA) under current Neumann head coach Kyle Gardner.

The first Overall Pick, Tyler Pace (University of Denver) was also coached by Coach Gardner at the Blue Ridge School in Virginia​.
