Former Easton High standout defenseman Conor Tuturice has transferred to Monmouth University after enjoying a strong freshman year at Division LIU Post.

Tuturice, the East Penn Conference MVP and a key to Easton’s league crown in 2016, started 12 of 15 games this year at LIU Post, collecting 23 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers.

Tuturice, who played for the Duke’s Lacrosse Club, was a Second-Team All-Phillylacrosse.com pick in 2016 when he helped Easton finish 18-4.

“There were several things that led me to targeting Monmouth,” said Tuturice. “The academic programs fit what I was looking for in a school, and being close to two cities in New York and Philadelphia it provides great intern and career opportunities. “Monmouth has developed a great program in 5 years and being able to compete at the D1 level for a conference championship and a NCAA bid is a great opportunity. After being on campus, I really liked the size, and the facilities for both academics and athletics were great. Lastly meeting with the coaches sealed the deal in my mind. Coach Fisher and staff explained exactly what was expected from Monmouth athletes and the mental approach to the game. He discussed the all around importance of being a student athlete and not just a lacrosse player. The total package was exactly what I was looking for…”
