Cradle Lacrosse, the country’s premier developmental lacrosse program for children ages 4-8, is excited to announce eight locations in Philadelphia and Delaware this spring! Cradle’s slate kicks off with its spring locations April 1 and concludes May 14 with sites at Cardinal O’Hara High School, Friends Select School, Hockessin Montessori School, Germantown Academy, Malvern Prep, Middletown Community Park, Radnor Memorial Park and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy.
Cradle’s spring programs are offered on either Saturdays or Sundays for six weeks, with each action-packed session lasting one hour. Cradle features a six week curriculum specifically designed to introduce players to the key fundamental skills in a fun and energizing environment. Each session, players are introduced to a new skill, given ample opportunities for success during station work and encouraged to demonstrate new skills in fun games.
NXT Director of Boys Lacrosse Marty Kupprion is a former teacher who has been with Cradle since its conception.
“Lacrosse is such a special sport and we are fortunate to be located in a hotbed,” he said. “There are so many great coaches and townships involved with this growing game. Players can now be introduced to lacrosse even earlier in their athletic careers and they are falling in love!
“At NXT, we have true educators teaching the game with great passion and purpose.” said Kupprion.
Additionally, NXT Director of Girls Lacrosse Kate Henwood (also a former teacher) was introduced to Cradle when she joined NXT in 2015. When asked about her first impressions of Cradle, Henwood offered, “I have to admit that I was completely taken back by the energy and excitement on the field and on the kid’s faces! I had honestly never seen anything like it before and now, I am so proud to be a part of such an impressive program. These kids have an absolute blast, the coaches are masters at understanding how to engage this age group, and I can’t wait to jump right back into the fray this spring!”
The Cradle coaching staff features former Division I, II, III players, current teachers, as well as local club, high school and college coaches. At NXT, we have professional and passionate coaches who are excited about sharing Cradle’s cutting-edge curriculum. All Cradle coaches are trained prior to the season to ensure that safety standards and developmental goals are achieved. NXT’s introductory lacrosse program features a co-ed coaching staff, all of whom are PA ACT 153 certified and background checked. Many of the Cradle coaches are also active with NXT’s Play Fast fundamental clinics and the NXT Lacrosse Club teams.
Since 2010, NXT has run Cradle at over 50 locations nationwide and helped introduce the sport to over 3,000 plus aspiring lacrosse players! We are excited for our eighth spring season starting in April. Visit cradlelacrosse.com for full information.
