Amir Fluellen had four goals and an assist and Tate Gallger collected three goals, two assists and six groundballs as host Shipley School defeated Westtown School, 12-6, today in the semifinals of the Friends Schools League boys’ lacrosse championships.
The second-seeded Gators (9-7) advance to the FSL finals Saturday at Academy of the new Church at 2 p.m.
Shipley raced to a 5-0 lead at halftime and never looked back as Chad Allison added three goals and an assist and Nick Yi had two goals, an assist and 10 groundballs with strong work from the face-off X (17 wins). Nick Gonzalez led the defense with 15 groundballs and hit 125 for the season.
Shipley got strong groundball work from Nick Ragaglia (five GBs) and Trevor Green The defensive middies, Zach Bradlow and Zach Henry, also stood out and Griff Gallagher added a goal and an assist while Colton Gallo posted 12 saves.
Matt Federau, a 2017 from British Columbia, had a confirmed 31 saves for Westtown (9-7).
