The PA Roughriders Lacrosse team is pleased to announce that former Conestoga, Penn State and Philadelphia Wing standout Pat Heim (Conestoga) will be joining the Roughrider Nation as a coach this fall. Heim will join Hall of Famer Chris Flynn on his staff for the 2021 team and also work on skill development for all ages.
A Philadelphia legend, Heim grew up in Wayne and attended Conestoga where he excelled in lacrosse, football and wrestling, and earned 12 varsity letters while serving as team captain in each sport. Coach Heim went on to play lacrosse at Penn State University as a midfielder under former coach, Glenn Thiel. Heim scored 58 goals at Penn State.
At Penn State, Coach Heim was a three-time first team all ECAC midfielder, two-time All American, and team captain his senior year. In 2007, he was selected as the #1 overall draft pick in the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft to the Chicago Machine. In the MLL Coach Heim was a two-time All-Star and in 2011 won the MLL Championship with the Boston Cannons. Coach was also selected as a non-drafted free agent to the Philadelphia Wings of the NLL in 2008 where he played for six seasons.
“We are very happy to have Pat join our staff; his incredible background as a player, his focus on skill development as a coach will be a great asset to the entire Roughrider program,” said Doug Corrigan, Director of the PA Roughriders. “Pat will be great for the kids and prepare them for playing at the next level.”
