Registration is open for the Germantown Friends Girls’ Lacrosse Camp for grades 2 to 8 on June 20-24.

Dates: June 20-24, 2016
Times: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: Germantown Friends Athletic Fields, 2823 Midvale Avenue, 19129 in East Falls.
Price: $355

Equipment: water bottle, goggles, mouth guard, stick, extra socks, sunscreen, sneakers, cleats (optional). Some equipment is available for loan if needed.
Lunch: Campers will bring their own lunch, snack and drink.
Medical: Children must be covered by a parent/guardian’s insurance policy. Please provide medical information during the on-line registration process. A certified Athletic Trainer will be available on the premises at all times.

About the camp: Here’s an opportunity to improve your game and have fun at the same time. This camp is open to girls of every skill level who want to learn more about lacrosse. Our goal is not only to teach the skills necessary to excel at the sport but to impart a love of athletics and to build confidence.

10:00 Agility and footwork fun
10:30 Snack and Leadership Groups
11:00 Attacking concepts
12:00 Lunch/Pool (Germantown Cricket Club)
1:15 Defensive concepts
2:00 Small games
2:45 Warm-down and reflection
3:00 Pick up

Coaching Staff: The camp will be led by current GFS Varsity Lacrosse Coach Katie Bergstrom Mark. She has coached lacrosse for 15 years and led the team to 6 Friends Schools League championships. More than 45 of her athletes have gone on to play Division I or Division III college Lacrosse at schools such as Stanford, Trinity, Dartmouth, Penn, Middlebury, Bates, Bowdoin, Howard, Wesleyan, MIT and Davidson. Bergstrom Mark has extensive experience coaching youth to elite players in camps, clinics, and tournaments. At Columbia University, she was the leading scorer for the Division I Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams. Bergstrom Mark is the Director of Athletics at Germantown Friends School, and the Director of the GFS Summer Camps. Other Staff members will be made up of current NCAA lacrosse players and other GFS Lacrosse Coaches and current Varsity Players.
