Registration remains open for the BaggataGirls™ Summer Camp for girls entering Grades K-9 on June 27-30 at Wilson Park in Wayne. Girls throughout the region – those learning the game and those looking for exposure to advanced techniques – are welcome to attend.
BaggataGirls™ teaches the skills of lacrosse using novel drills, concepts and language players can understand, relate to and retain – all in a high energy and supportive setting. Our agenda is to teach girls the FUNdamentals, but with a Flair…
• The camp will feature the full gamut of station work to teach all the skills.
• The girls will enjoy an emphasis on short-sided scrimmaging to help them learn to be complete lacrosse players, not just positional ones.
• We stress the traditional staples, but will also introduce certain groups to Canadian/Box lacrosse concepts.
This is not a cookie cutter curriculum! BaggataGirls™ training has been honed over years of collective experience by highly respected and caring parents and coaches – all of whom have played and coached at the highest level. And we have seen the results!
BaggataGirls™ training transfers knowledge, maximizes touches and is designed to help players thrive in the style of play that has emerged in girls’ lacrosse. Our goal, in a condensed time frame, is to teach lacrosse literacy and the requisite skills to help the girls advance at an accelerated rate. Our hope is to instill or further develop confidence and a passion for the game.
We will group girls by age/ability, tailoring the program as appropriate to optimize the sessions. Girls looking for advanced training will be challenged. Girls in Grades K-2 (ages 5-8) will enjoy the KinderLax™ companion curriculum (KinderLax™ players do not need equipment; soft lacrosse sticks and spongy balls will be provided).
The camp is organized and led by Co-Directors Amy Orcutt, head coach at Conestoga High School (two-time undefeated Central League Champion and newly minted 2016 PIAA State Champion), and Scott Growney, former Mesa Fresh / PennStar coach / Philadelphia Wings member and co-founder of BaggataGirls™ Lacrosse. Conestoga All-Americans Liz Scott and Scottie Rose Growney will be among a young and fun group of camp counselors sharing their love and knowledge of the game with the girls.
The camp will run from 9am to 2pm (Grades K-2 will run from 9-11:30am). Register soon as space is limited. See why experience is the best teacher – click here for Player Registration; click here to see the 2015 BaggataGirls Photo Gallery.
