Gavin McBride, a Haverford School graduate, has been named a co-captain at Princeton University for the 2017 season.
McBride is the only Princeton player with at least one point in every game the last two years. He was Princeton’s leading scorer last year with 26 goals, and he finished the season with at least three goals in five straight games, the first time a Princeton player has done that since 2001.
Bear Goldstein, a defenseman from Dallas, will be the other co-captain. Goldstein is the only current Princeton player to have started every game of his career, and he is a two-time All-Ivy League selection.
Princeton is in the middle of its fall practices. The Tigers will play Denver on Oct. 15 on William G. Tierney Field in Sparks, Md.
