From Press Release

Marquette University head coach Meredith Black and the women’s lacrosse program has announced the addition of eight newcomers to the squad for the 2016-17 academic year.

All have begun practicing with the team for their non-traditional fall season and have four years of eligibility remaining with the Golden Eagles.

“I’m really excited about this class of freshmen,” Black said. “They come from all over the country and bring a unique set of talents that will help us rise to the next level. Positionally, we were able to address each area from attack to goalie and, with the loss of so many seniors, this class is in a good position to contribute to our team’s success right away.”

This year’s class is made up of three true midfielders, two attackers, one defense, a defense/midfield combo and a goalie. Five states are represented, including three student-athletes from Maryland, two from Pennsylvania, and one from each Colorado, New York and Minnesota.

Marquette enters its sixth year as a program, including its fifth season of competition in 2016-17.
