The Inter-Ac Challenge, run by NXTsports, will hold tryouts for its seventh and eighth grade Pennsylvania vs. New Jersey middle school all-star games at Maple Zone Sports Institute and The Lawrenceville School. There is a $60 tryout fee with all net proceeds from the Inter-Ac Challenge being donated to the HEADstrong Foundation. The all-star games will be held on Sunday, May 22 at Villanova Stadium before the Inter-Ac Challenge championship game.
Each player who registers for tryouts receives a ticket to the Inter-Ac Challenge semifinals on Friday, May 20 at Villanova Stadium. Each player selected to his respective team receives a ticket to the Inter-Ac Challenge championship game on Sunday, May 22 at Villanova Stadium.
Pennsylvania seventh graders will try out on Monday, April 25 and Monday, May 2 from 6-7:30 p.m., while eighth graders will try out Wednesday, May 4 and Monday, May 9 at the same time. Players selected to the teams will have a practice on Monday, May 16 at MSI from 6-7:30 p.m.
New Jersey players will try out on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 26 and 27. Seventh graders will try out from 6-7:30 p.m., while eighth graders will try out from 8-9:30 p.m.. Players selected to the teams will have a practice on Tuesday, May 3, with the seventh graders practicing from 6-7:30 p.m. and eighth graders practicing from 8-9:30 p.m.
“We hosted these all-star games at the 2014 Philly Charity Showdown and got to see some of the game’s best rising stars in action, including two players who have since committed to Virginia and one each to Penn State, Maryland and Michigan,” Inter-Ac Challenge Director Brett Manney said. “We’re expecting to see the best seventh and eighth graders in Pennsylvania and New Jersey at tryouts and the all-star games are a perfect way to get the day started before the Inter-Ac Challenge title game.”
