Gwynedd Mercy University senior midfielder Tony McCraw was honored again nationally with a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III All American Team for the second year in a row.
McCraw, out of Central Dauphin East (PA), was an honorable mention selection for the second season in a row. He is the first player in Gwynedd Mercy program history to be named All American and first two-time All American.
This year, he led the Colonial States Athletic Conference in goals per game (2.73 gpg) while leading the Griffins in points (62), goals (41), and assists (21) while adding 40 groundballs and 10 caused turnovers in 15 games. For his efforts, he was selected the 2016 CSAC Co-Player of the Year.
He leaves the Gwynedd men’s lacrosse program with a bevy of school scoring records in a game, season, and career. This past season, he set the all-time points and goal scoring records to cement his name in the program’s history books. In 59 career games, McCraw has amassed 138 goals and 60 assists for 198 points along with 313 groundballs, 47 caused turnovers, and a face-off win percentage of .634 (333-525).
McCraw also was selected to participate in the 75th USILA/Nike North South Game May 27 at Cabrini College.
The team went 10-5 and 6-1 in CSAC play and advanced to the conference championship for the third time in the program’s eight-year history.
