The No. 11/11 University of Louisville women’s lacrosse team will host No. 4/5 Notre Dame in an ACC matchup today at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 6-0, which ties the best start in porgram history, after a dominant 10-4 victory over No. 10 Northwestern on Thursday afternoon at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Cortnee Daley (Hatboro-Horsham) and Julia Wood each posted hat tricks while Kelli Gerding added four assists and Brittany Read recorded a career-high 13 saves in the first ever victory in five tries against the Wildcats.
Daley, a senior, has 14 goals and four assists already this year. Daley is second on the team in scoring.
Kaylin Morissette continues to lead the way for the Cardinals in scoring with 21 points, scoring 15 goals and adding six assists. Cortnee Daley is second on the team with 14 goals while Hannah Koloski adds 13 goals. Kelli Gerding paces the team in assists with 12. Sophomore Brittany Read has started all six games in goal, recording a 4.76 goals against average with 52 saves on the year.
Notre Dame enters the game with a 5-0 overall record and a 1-0 conference record. Including Notre Dame’s 14-4 victory over ACC foe No. 9 Boston College, the Irish have won their previous three games with a +3.9 scoring margin.
