From Press Release
The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association has announced that Cornell head coach Jenny Graap (West Chester East) ’86 was recently named the IWLCA Division I Northeast Region Coach of the Year.
Graap, who earned the same honor previously in 2002 and 2006, led the Big Red to one of the best seasons in program history in 2016, beginning with a record-breaking 8-0 start. Graap notched her 200th career head-coaching win, beating Penn, 11-10, to lead the Big Red to its first-ever Ivy League Tournament Championship. Earning the Ancient Eight’s automatic bid, Cornell returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006.
Following the season, she was chosen to coach the Division I North Al-Star Team at the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game
Graap, along with the other Regional and National Coaches of the Year winners, will be honored at the IWLCA Honors Banquet held on November 17 during the IWLCA Annual Meetings at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Florida.
