Team Dynasty/Lacrossewear, coached and assembled by Paul Landaiche (Episcopal Academy/Hampden-Sydney, Wayne resident) and featuring Philly products Henry Blynn (Haverford School-Duke’s LC/Brown) and Matt Barrett (Malvern Prep-Duke’s LC/UVA) won its third in a row and sixth overall Vail Shootout Men’s Elite championship.
Dynasty/Lacrossewear defeated Flying Dutchmen, 20-11, as Barrett was named All-tourney and Blynn was dominant on attack.
“The experience in Vail was incredible,” said Blynn, who helped lead Brown to the NCAA semifinals this spring. “The team was made up of the top Division 1 players who are all extraordinary guys.
“Winning Vail was something that I’ve always wanted to do and is a great way to go out. I still plan to try and play professionally at some point, but right now I am just lucky to have been invited out there and have the experience that I did.”
The Dynasty/Lacrossewear team is the most successful entry throughout the 44 years of the tournament.
Dynasty/Lacrossewear 20, Flying Dutchmen 11
Flying Dutchmen came out strong with two quick two-pointers at the beginning of the game, but Dynasty controlled the majority of the plays thanks to faceoff wins.
