The Georgetown University women’s lacrosse squad has welcomed 10 newcomers to campus this fall. The Hoyas had nine freshmen arrive on the Hilltop and also welcomed graduate student transfer Morgan Rubin from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
“This group brings athleticism, speed and a competitive nature covering all positions,” Said Georgetown Head Coach Ricky Fried. “They have already made an immediate impact on the program in the way they practice every day, and we’re excited about how this will translate to the regular season.”
Prior to Georgetown: Won four varsity letters and was team captain at Souderton High School … Appeared in the 2015 FIL U-19 World Cup winning a silver medal with Team USA … Named US Lacrosse All-American as a senior and PASLA All-League MVP … A three-time first team all-league honoree and named honorable mention as a freshman … The two-time team MVP … High school team won two league championships … Tallied 180 goals, 53 assists, 119 draw controls and 102 caused turnovers in her high school career … Played club with Ultimate Goal Lacrosse … A member of the National Honor Society … Participated in Students Against Violating the Earth (SAVE) and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
Prior to Georgetown: A two-year letterwinner at Radnor … Earned Honorable Mention All-Delco in 2015 … A two-time Honorable Mention All-Main Line selection … Selected as an Academic All-American in both 2014 and 2015 … Named a Pansini Law Group Scholar-Athlete in 2015 … Team went to the state finals in 2013 and the semifinals in 2015 … Tallied 45 goals and 10 assists in her high school career … Played four years of varsity basketball and three years of varsity soccer serving as team captain for both squads as a senior … A member of the National Honor Society and on the Distinguished Honor Roll for all four years graduating with a 4.0 GPA … Played club with Steps Elite with teammate Rachel Alberti … Grandfather Rollie Massimino led the Villanova men’s basketball team to the 1985 NCAA championship.

Prior to Georgetown: A five-year letterwinner in high school at Bernardsville and The Taft School … Served as team captain as a senior … Named a New England All-Star in 2015 and was a three-time Western New England and Founders League All-Star … Tallied 278 career points in high school … Also played field hockey and ice hockey serving as field hockey captain as a senior … A member of the Honor Roll … Played club with Steps Elite with teammate Megan Massimino … Mother, Kathryn, as well as sister, Kathryn, and brother, Nicholas, all attended Georgetown.
Naples, Fla./Barron Collier
Prior to Georgetown: A three-year letterwinner in high school … Served as lacrosse team captain at Baron Collier her senior season … An All-America honoree in 2015 also earning First Team All-Collier County and First Team All-NDN Team … Played club lacrosse with Braveheart Lacrosse … Also played basketball and golf … Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Yearbook Club.
Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker
Prior to Georgetown: A four-year letterwinner and 2015 team captain at C.W. Baker … Three-time First Team All-CNY and selection to the Post Standard All-CNY All-Star Team … The Baldwinsville Team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015 … 2014 Under Armour All-Tournament Team … Invited to the Team USA U-19 final tryouts … A NYS Scholar-Athlete from 2012-15 … Participated in the 2015 Nike Ride … High school team was the state runner up in 2013 … Totaled 158 career goals and 68 assists for 226 points at C.W. Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School
At UNC: Appeared in 32 career games with one start … Scored 11 goals and tallied four assists for 15 career points … Played in only four games as a junior tearing her ACL early in the 2014 season … Scored a career-high two goals and had an assist for a career-high three points in the 2013 NCAA Tournament victory over Loyola … Named to the ACC Honor Roll … Graduated with a degree in exercise and sport science in 2015 … Carolina Leadership Academy Rising Star.
Prior to Georgetown: Named one of the nation’s top 25 recruits by Inside Lacrosse … Started for the South team in the 2011 Under Armour All-America game … Tallied 67 goals and 30 assists in 2011 for the Bryn Mawr School, leading the team to a 16-3 record … A two-time all-city choice in Baltimore and an IAAM All-Star … Earned US Lacrosse All-America and All-Academic Team honors in 2011 … Also played varsity squash and soccer, where she earned all-conference and All-Met honors … Named the Towson Times Co-Female Athlete of the Year for 2011 … Won the Anne Pugh Award for athletic excellence, sportsmanship and leadership at Bryn Mawr in 2011.
