No stick or equipment needed. Boys brand new to lacrosse will be taught the basic fundamentals of the game: scooping, cradling, throwing, catching and shooting using the plastic scoop sticks and balls. Lots of fun drills and games will keep them moving through high energy, 45 minute sessions.
BEGINNER STICK SKILLS: 7-9 Year Olds – 10:45-11:45am Fee: $125. Please bring your own stick. No equipment needed. This session is for boys who have had minimum exposure to lacrosse, as well as those with some experience looking to fine tune their stick skills. They will work in small group settings on the fundamental aspects of the game. 3v3 play will be introduced as a fun way to learn game strategy.

Philly Face-Off League Winter session, meet once a week to not only practice their skills against each other, but receive coaching. In order to be a part of the league you must have at least one year of experience facing-off at a high level for your school or club team. This league is not for beginners. This is an IDEAL clinic for face-off guys who want to compete against other quality face-off players for 90 minutes while receiving individualized instruction if needed. The Philadelphia Face-Off League is run by John Bodnar (Episcopal Academy, NXT Lacrosse) and Mike Dolente (Cabrini College, Dukes). They both have an extensive background in working with some of the best face-off guys in the area and are asking for more guys to compete. Black Bear Pre-Season Positional Training Program on Saturdays starting Jan. 10 through Feb. 28 from 5-9 p.m. at the 422SportsPlex in Pottstown for players in grades 3rd through 12th. The eight sessions cost $170. Black Bear coaches are seasoned veterans and teachers of the game who have a self invested interest in their lacrosse communities. This is an open program.

The curriculum for our Pre-Season Positional Training Program is designed to keep the player moving and engaged in what they’re learning. Each session the player will be taught new drills that subconsciously develops their lacrosse IQ and understanding of the game. Players will also be subjected to a rigorous footwork and agility segment designed to work around the skill sets needed as a lacrosse player with an emphasis on developing their “fast-twitch muscle fibers” which we call the “VIKING PROGRAM.” Players will be exposed to visual demonstrations both by coaches and through discussion with a whiteboard to build their understanding of lacrosse and the drills they will be subjected to. The curriculum also uses differentiated instruction meaning we have developed drills to meet the needs of ALL PLAYERS through position specific drills that are tailored to work with a specific skill level and positional group within our training program curriculum.

HEADstrong Winter Training Sessions, held over a 4-week period at Mainline Sports Center, 1340 Swedesford Road, Berwyn, PA 19312. The dates and times are as follows for all groups:

There are very limited spots remaining. To be clear, the training is meant for experienced players, not beginners. The training is only open to players in the graduating classes of 2019 (currently 8th grade), 2018 (current freshmen), 2017 (current sophomore) and 2016 (current junior). The first two weeks of the positional training programs will be no contact, footwork, dodging, positioning, shooting, and stickwork drills within your positional group. The second two weeks will be run in tandem with other positional groups in order to go full contact, full shooting, 1 on 1’s, 2 on 2’s etc. The idea being that the first two weeks are full instruction and the second two weeks will be implementing those instructions and going “live” in front of your positional coach in order to get immediate coaching/follow up on your positional education. We have two separate fields reserved for all of this during those dates and times. The positional training drills are coming directly from current Division 1 programs “individual” off-season workouts. The attack positional training will be run by Michael Colleluori (former All-American at Hofstra). The midfield positional training will be run by Dan Layfield (HEADstrong 2017 coach, current Wissahickon Head coach, former Midfielder at Drexel University). The Goalie training will be run by Mark Manos (HEADstrong 2018 Coach, Charlotte Hounds Goalie, Former All-American at Drexel). The 17th Annual Pre-Season Boys Lacrosse Clinics, by Swarthmore College head coach Pat Gress and his coaching staff, boys between grades 3rd and 8th, on the campus of Swarthmore College. Clinics will begin on Sunday, January 25th and continue the following two Sunday mornings (February 1st and February 8th). Each clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (check in begins at 9:45 a.m.) and are held within Swarthmore College’s Lamb Miller Fieldhouse. Families can choose to attend each week of the three week series for $95.00 or choose any one of the three sessions for $35.00. Sessions will be monitored by a Certified Athletic Trainer. The camp expands on a successful membership-based Sunday program and is specifically designed to prepare all goalies the upcoming season with your Youth/HS/Club team. The Goalie Academy will be providing new services specifically for this camp, including an individual film with each goalie’s play on it.
This film will be a great tool for goalies to learn from, starting with an individualized film session
highlighting strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, each camper will have a one-on-one session with a LaxEvo coach to help them set individual goals for the weeks leading into the season, and for the season itself.
Also, all HS-aged goalies will have their meeting with a current NCAA Recruiting Coordinator to help map out an individualized college-recruitment timeline as well. A normal day will include:
Going over their individual film of their play in the cage; White Board sessions covering clearing, defensive principals, and communication; Footwork/Positioning drills; Warm-up shots, focusing on form + technique, to each spot; Live shots, focusing on that day’s shot/theme (Shots on the run, screen shots, 1v1s, bouncers, etc); Stick work, usually developed through full-field play; Communication in live-action situations; End with live shots, which are filmed to go over next session; Each day we will bring in an MLL player/coach or a College All-American as a guest speaker, goalie coach (with a shooting demo!) or guest shooter.
E20 Elite Goalie School for goalies in the graduation years 2017, 2018 & 2019, run by Brian “Doc” Dougherty and Drew Adams. Twenty goalies from each graduation year will be hand selected by “Doc”, Drew and their staff to attend this invite only overnight camp. The E20 Elite Goalie School will take place on July 6th through July 9th on the beautiful campus of Bryn Athyn College, located just outside of Philadelphia. Players will be housed in brand new suites that include kitchens, washer/dryers and most importantly air conditioning. Goalies will be challenged daily by shots from a select group of top offensive players supplied by E20’s partner the American Indoor Lacrosse Association. The shooters will be invited based on their performance at the AILA’s weeklong box training and outdoor shooting camp, which also takes place at Bryn Athyn College on the same week.
Goalies will receive personal training by some of the best goalies to ever play the game. E20’s staff consists of All-World goalie Dougherty (Chestnut Hill College head coach, Episcopal Academy grad), current USA National Team member, New York Lizards and MLL All Star goaltender Adams (Springfield-Delco, Penn State), former Penn State keeper and First Team All American Austin “Sparky” Kaut and former Maryland’s First Team All American Niko Amato. All four goalies have earned multiple All-American statuses at their respected universities.

Battle of Fort Washington Lacrosse Tournament, hosted by the Upper Dublin Boys Crooked Crosse Lacrosse Club, Saturday, March 7 & Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the SPARK all weather fields in Upper Dublin. The Battle of Fort Washington Tournament will host boys youth lacrosse teams from across the Tri-State area. The tournament will consist of four boys divisions including A1 & A2 (7/8th grade – U15) and B1 & B2 (5/6th grade – U13) teams. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 2 games with 25 minute running halves. The A Divisions will be played Saturday, March 7th with B Division playing on Sunday, March 8th. QuickStick Day Camp, La Salle College High School, run by La Salle Hall of Fame coach Bill Leahy and his staff, June 22-26, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, boys aged 5 to 16. The original Quickstick Lacrosse Camp location! Since 1993 boys and girls have been enjoying camp at La Salle. This camp highlights stick skills, team concepts, and the much anticipated camp tournament. Campers enjoy live DJ music on the field, lunch for purchase in the school cafeteria, guest speakers in the lecture hall, and a high fidelity action packed video session in the “star trek” room. The last four years this camp has SOLD OUT with over 225 total campers.
HEADstrong Combine at La Salle College High School, June 29-July 1, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Boys Entering 5th thru 8th Grade, HEADstrong Combine is a specialty lacrosse camp designed to focus on stickwork, shooting, speed and strength run by La Salle Hall of Fame coach Bill leahy and his staff. Campers will experience specific drills and exercises to dramatically improve these key areas. This camp is for boys entering 5th through 8th grade and are considered to be intermediate to advanced players. The HEADstrong North Club Teams (5th/6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams) are organized and run by the HEADstrong Foundation in conjunction with the La Salle College High School lacrosse team coaching staff. This combine will introduce players to both the HEADstrong Foundation and HEADstrong Lacrosse Club. This camp is a great way to improve as a player, serve a great cause, and introduce yourself to the HEADstrong North Lacrosse CLub coaching staff.
Millon camps, Overnight and Day Camps Available, for boys aged 8 to 17, June 22-26, The Perkiomen School. Millon camps have been operating for over 20 years and trained over 20,000 campers. Every camper will receive a free warrior lacrosse stick; Million Lacrosse teaches basics to younger, less experienced players and more challenging skill sets to more accomplished players; for over 20 years Mark Million is on the field and DIRECTS every camp and oversees every aspect of the week; all facets of the game for all positions are covered in creative teaching settings, using both large group lectures and small intimate teaching scenarios; every camper receives a personalized written evaluation detailing detailing strengths and weaknesses and direction on how to become a better player.
