From Press Release
Unionville High School will host an early season boys’ lacrosse charity double header on Saturday, March 28th that will feature Boys’ Latin (MD), last year’s “national champion” and PIAA semifinalist Radnor.
The slate features the Radnor-Boys’ Latin matchup at noon, followed by a non-league game between Unionville and Council Rock South of the Suburban One League.
The day will also be highlighted by fundraising for Unite for HER. Admission is free. However, voluntary donations will be taken at the gate, a 50/50 raffle and other activities. All proceeds benefit Unite for HER (www.uniteforher.org). Fans are encouraged to wear pink and support a great cause.
Additionally, the Unionville Lacrosse Booster Club and URA Boys’ Lacrosse will honor former Unionville High School Coaches John Rohde and Bruce Vosburgh for their invaluable contributions to youth and high school lacrosse.
Boys’ Latin went 18-0 last year and won the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) championship. Radnor was 17-6 and reached the state semis before bowing to Avon Grove.
Unionville was 8-9 last year and CR South went 8-8.
“We are very excited to host a game of this caliber,” said Noel Breger, Head Coach, Unionville High School “The Radnor – Boys’ Latin match up and our game with Council Rock South will be a great way for the teams to prepare for their 2015 league play.
“I am also proud that we will be honoring Coach Rohde and Vosburgh. For all that they have done for the lacrosse community, they truly deserve this moment in the sun.”
